"Another interesting move by Lundin Mining could be in its core zinc business withCanada Zinc Metals still in the M&A picture. Even after Chinese involvement, company is still at the very attractive levels of valuation. Its Akie deposit represents one of the largest zinc and lead deposits in the world and based in Canada. With recent financing from Tongling, Chinese giant will have more than 30% in Canada Zinc Metals, Lundin Mining is the second largest shareholderafter Tongling now in that company. We were thinking that Mandarin will be the only language for all presentations in that company, but found recently information on the bullboard about Lundin Mining visits to the Akie property - it could be easily confirmed by the management.

"As I have a large shareholding in CZX I stay in regular communication with management. A team from Lundin Mining was up at the property not too long ago. Apparently the visit went very well...don't forget Lukas Lundin is a wheeler and dealer. Trust me - others are knocking too.
Any sophisticated investor (and I know you are one) knows that all it would take is a large pp with another mining company (including Lundin Mining) and the playing field is levelled."

We have mentioned before:

"Among the other developments today, we have mentioned that Lundin Mining has increased its loan facility and the maturity of the loan - will Lukas Lundin go shopping one day to increase his resource base for the next leg up in this commodity bull? He still maintains stake in Canada Zinc Metals along with all Chinese participants - should someone decide to chase this dragon - story could become very interesting."

We have first upgrades and boost in a share price target for Lundin Mining after the Tenke Fungurume news.

"Lundin Mining is in no way a junior mining company, will have attention from Majors in the Copper sector. Freeport McMoran - J/V partner on Tenke Fungurume - will be a natural suitor for this Jewell. In our logic it have to attempt at least to buy out the share of Lundin Mining in Tenke Fungurume - otherwise it will be done by others and Chinese, who are very active in DRC, will be backed by the DRC government in this case. An outright bid for all Lundin Mining operations could be in the cards as well.

We believe that Lukas Lundin will have to make his move and show that now - with cash flow from Tenke Fungurume and further expansion of production in DRC - he can build value in Lundin Mining itself. Realisation of the facts, described above, by the market could bring the share price north of CAD10.0 (we will not be surprised to see a target price of this magnitude with company's book value at around CAD5.2 now and E/P at CAD 0.13 in Q2 2010). Lukas will be again in a very favorable position after these very tough few years for the company. He can and should use his currency - shares in the company above CAD10.0 to buy another companies with sizable projects at still undervalued valuations among juniors. He should definitely, in our opinion, to study well opportunities for acquisition in CIBC report. His another company - NGeX Resources is a part of that M&A list with its properties in Argentina, Chile, Africa and Canada is moving up nicely in price these days as well. TNR Gold has a few J/V projects with NGeX Resources in Argentina. Lukas Lundin was buying recently NGeX Resources in the market."

Globe says Lundin Mining target boosted to $8

2010-10-26 05:45 ET - In the News

The Globe and Mail reports in its Tuesday edition that Lundin Mining jumped 15 cents to finish Monday at $6.90. The Globe's Darcy Keith writes in the Eye On Equities column that Lundin Mining stock has a 52-week range of $2.91 to $7.04. Lundin Mining will now hold a 24-per-cent ownership interest in the Tenke mine following an agreement between Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold and the government of the Democratic Republic of Congo. CIBC World Markets analyst Alec Kodatsky says the deal clears the way for further investment to expand the mine. Mr. Kodatsky boosted his price target by half a buck to $8. UBS Securities Canada analyst Onno Rutten upgraded his rating on Lundin Mining to "buy" from "neutral" with a price target of $5.20 in the Eye column on June 23. The stock was then worth $3.62. TD Securities analyst Greg Barnes maintained Lundin Mining at "buy" in the Eye column on Feb. 24. Lundin Mining stock could then be had for $4.44. Mr. Barnes targeted the stock at $7. The Globe's Allan Robinson wrote on Sept. 18 that Lundin Mining stock still had room to rally. It was then trading at $3.89. The Globe's David Parkinson said Lundin Mining was underpriced on Sept. 2. It was then worth $3.71.

FP says HudBay missed a big opportunity with Lundin

2010-10-26 06:03 ET - In the News

See In the News (C-HBM) HudBay Minerals Inc

The Financial Post reports in its Tuesday, Oct. 26, edition that Lundin Mining's successful conclusion of the review of Tenke Fungurume Mining's contracts in the Democratic Republic of Congo must have HudBay Mining shareholders wondering what life would be like now had the Nov. 21, 2008, merger gone through. The Post's Barry Critchley writes that it is a certainty that HudBay shareholders would have ended up a lot better off had the miner been successful in issuing $488-million of stock and buying Lundin. Try about $800-million better off, or $5 to $6 a share given that HudBay has 149 million shares outstanding. HudBay shares closed Monday at $16.39. As of Monday, HudBay has a market cap of $2.44-billion, while Lundin has a cap of $4-billion -- a gap of $1.56-billion. Half the difference, or $780-million, was left on the proverbial table by HudBay shareholders. "By their actions the HudBay shareholders have deprived themselves of an enormous windfall," says an unnamed observer. Another unnamed observer says, "Notwithstanding all the noise at the time, it looks like that the smartest guys in the room were actually" former chief executive officer" Allan Palmiere and the board of HudBay after all."

CS. Nobody told us, when we will be there - but we are all going in that direction.

Expect the unexpected and new corrections will provide new Entry Points in these Bulls. All you have to do is to find them and ride the course with the discipline - it is the part which separates boys from the men and investors from their money.

As you have noticed, we have almost stopped  our preaching about Gold - now Jim Cramer is doing this job for us. We can concentrate on our investment themes and particular instruments to be in the right boat, when the tide will come.

Recent run in Gold reflects the public distrust for all Fiat currencies. US dollar will always have a particular focus here.

We have the very strong complications with FED engaged in QE in a situation, when Federal Reserve is as federal as Federal Express. In absence of Gold - as the base for the monetary system - with it's external disciple, we have a traders paradise, when Enron is auditing itself. Arthur Anderson has not saved the shareholders of Enron and collapsed with it's client - today in our monetary system nobody even pretends to be sane any more.

Last few weeks we are hearing a lot of voices about the currency war, when all governments are trying to debase their currencies again each other. So far they are all successful in driving Gold up against all Fiat currencies.

US Dollar will have it's own destiny here: General Bernanke is winning his war against deflation. US corp. With it's total obligations above 100 Trillion dollars will have to debase it currency not only against Gold on par with other Fiat currencies, but also against other fiat currencies. We will remind you the basic math about inflation economics and the value of Debt.

"7. China holding record amount of treasuries and US Dollar denominated assets is the interesting combination with idea of national security, but we do not bank on Crash - gradual collapse in US Dollar will do the trick: 7% inflation in the real terms will slash the debt by almost 50% within next eleven years."

Buyers of US Treasuries are at least suicidal now. This Bubble is popping in front of our eyes.

Deflationists just do not get it: inflation is the monetary process of expanding the monetary base. In absence of external discipline - like gold in a gold based monetary system - nothing and nobody prevents the FED to create money out of thin air and distribute it into the system. In the most extreme circumstances General Bernanke promised to use Choppers to bring it - if tomorrow every household in U.S. will receive a cheque for 1 million - what kind of deflation will we be talking about? Is it insane? Not in our place.

Actually, deflation camp already has their deflation unfolding: just divide prices of  every asset class for the last few years by gold price to nominate prices in gold terms - they are all in a steep decline.

It is not only our theory any more - FED chairman Mr Bernanke has openly demanded more inflation and other members of FED were talking about it extensively last few weeks.

Update Oct. 12, 2010

In order to know where we are going, always keep your eyes on our friends across the pond - UK was ahead of U.S.  in banks bail out and announced QE - now it is ahead with looming inflation and stagnating growth:

Bloomberg: U.K. Inflation Topped 3% Limit for Seventh Month in September

Gold will be go much higher from here, it will not be the straight line, but every set back will provide an investment opportunity in Gold and Silver space. We will share with our thoughts and companies we like and you will be cautioned to make your own DD as usual.

Next stage will be fight for the resources and M&A activity at all stages of investing in Gold mining cycle. With rising Gold price and inflated paper Majors will shop for juniors to buy time and gold in the ground. Jim Puplava will be a very good narrator to all our travel maps and reports about our journey. With rising gold, price price of physical gold will become even more prohibitive, we do agree with Jim that people will start to buy gold mining shares again with their easy to run discount brokerage accounts.

With all this inflation unfolding we have another ground breaking, tectonic shift: Peak Oil multiplied by inflationary pressure on prices of all commodities. If gold at 5000 USD/oz will affect only very small part of our society - oil prices above 100 USD/barrel will affect everyone and can tear apart the canvas of our society. Here where Electric Cars and new oil - Lithium and REE are coming into the picture with it's new generational bull mega trend - Next Big Thing in action.

We did pretty good with "old and barbaric" in the Google age asset - Gold - we dare to put our money in the age of Twitter and Facebook on the future again and start to think in advance how all these kids are going to drive their kids to the soccer games.

Once or twice we already had "the feeling" - just a few times will be enough to make things right:

"Time when the prediction was made that Google could deep below 250 in a severe Bear market valuation passed in our memory as so distant and happy that it is almost not worth mentioning. But the call was done and was right on the money.

http://sufiy.blogspot.com/2008/07/google-goog-bear-case-contunued.html

Other observations could come into life with recent developments. Announcement about the new Head of Treasury fired the rally in the market. Yesterday all hope was lost: VIX made break up, DOW has violated Bearish Flag downwards and US Dollar almost broke up to upside. Today was the different story and first Gold start to rally and overtake very important resistances on the way to 800. HUI, GDX and all Goldies have followed in unison with gains up to 31% in Barrick Gold ABX. November, 2008"

"This is why we did not like to short the last leg down and preferred to accumulate Rally plays like China FXI, Zinc CZX.v, Zinc/Copper LUN.to, CUU.v, Grains HAU.to. Now the chances are that US Dollar will go finally down on fundamentals, markets will rally and then US Corp should prey that Oil will stay below 75, our Lithum ideas will be handy as well now. Commodities is the place to be for us again: base metals Juniors are sold into the ground - for China play and Gold and Silver for "Bet against Central Banks", it is a new fashion among Hedge Funds, when they are buying gold. March, 2009"

But back to the Lithium and how we are going to drive with gold at 5000:

"We have been proudly running Gold Bull for nearly ten years now: Gold first, than Majors and follow up on Junior side. We were always wondering about Future of Energy and have collected some great memories on Uranium Run, Solar and Water plays. Gold Bull has years to run, but we are searching constantly for new Macro trends - it is very interesting to find out what will be the next Bull which will come out of these rubbles in case we are right and Inflation will be the answer to the Deflation war scenario. It is time for Lithium to come into picture.

Lithium is the leveraged play on Peak Oil and rising Oil price with coming Inflation. Sector is very small and market is even more smaller - everything is ready for the parabolic move in case of supporting fundamentals.

Recent Oil Spill shows the real price for Oil and leaves no doubt for us that there will be no more cheap oil: offshore drilling is costly now, it will be even more costly later. Relatively cheap Oil is in the hands of state owned companies in not so friendly to U.S. places. Oil squeeze will come from diminishing production rates and rising Inflation. The move will be even more explosive than in the Gold market - in the end only minority of people is effected by the gold price even now, Oil is the underlining of all Western Energy Diet. It is not sustainable. Emerging markets are taking more and more share of world wide production, oil producing countries are spending more at home. If you account all cost to produce, deliver and protect Oil supply to U.S. corp the price is already above 150 USD/barrel."

Peak Oil theory moves from status of almost conspiracy theory and into the official government reports:

More on Peak Oil:

This year we have quite a few warnings already about Peak Oil from main stream economists, universities, US military and government agencies all around the world. The question now is not if, but when is it going to happen.

We have time still, but it is running out very fast. After a certain point in the oil price increase the only concern we are going to have about Electric Cars will be their availability on a mass scale to preserve our way of life and freedom."

In the last weeks we had a very important confirmation of returning risk appetite and liquidity coming into the junior mining sector. Most of our Summer 2010 Picks have been breaking to the upside already, finally reflecting the fundamentals and catching up with Gold, Silver, Copper and Zinc prices and Majors' valuations. M&A deals like in Potash, Gold, Zinc and Lithium to name a few, will drive this process further. Junior mining companies are holding resources, which majors are ready to buy to keep up their production rate - trading premium for time and risk developing them.

It's much more risky, but the reward is based on a very high leverage of exploration and development plays in these micro cap companies. If our investment thesis is wrong or we chose the wrong company, the end game will be brutal to our investment outcome - therefore you have to know what you are doing. Today we will discuss our lithium hit list below: all these companies are in the Byron Capital Lithium Index and we own these stocks or have owned them before. The game here is based on the combination of the rising price of underlining commodity (Lithium Bull this time), multiplied by the developments in this particular junior: exploration discoveries and resource definition with strategic partners involved and up to the M&A as it happened with Salares Lithium recently.

As usual, please do not forget that we do not provide any investment advise on this blog."

Warren Buffet mentioned along the lines, that in order to be the great investment story the business behind it should be really boring. Canada Zinc Metals with its Zinc deposit in Canada will pass this test at the first glance. What can be duller than Zinc in times of Twitter, Tesla and iPads? In order to get our idea you need to have a look at three things here: chart above with exponential growth in Car sales in China, Chart below with Zinc priced for a Double Dip and CZX.v corporate structure. Chinese Tongling holds now close to 20% in the company. Latest placement was with another Chinese investor at 0.6CAD with premium to the market of more than 30% (CZX.v now is at 0.45CAD). This investor controls now more than 10% of Canada Zinc Metals according to filing. With good odds for deposit to be expanding and blue sky potential of the new discoveries we think that the company is very close to more aggressive move by Tongling in order to secure the potential of this region play in Canada. For us it will be very interesting to see the destiny of investment stake by CZX.v in TNR Gold in this case, when Togling will become a partner with strategic opportunities in Lithium and REE investment and can be potentially involved in huge Argentinian Copper play at Los Azules."

"Another one of our Summer 2010 top picks is priming itself for public recognition. Canada Zinc Metals has secured strategic partnership with Chinese Tongling and drills are turning on the property promising news on potential blue sky discoveries and extension of the mineralized zone at the Cardiac Creek. At the moment of writing stock of CZX.v could be bought at 37% discount to the price Chinese are willing to pay for the latest stake in this company. Company is buying back its own shares as well now."

And now it looks like we are going to get our extension of mineralized zone at Cardiac Creek with some potential blue sky discoveries during this drill program. We will not run ahead of share price here - we do not know the grades of the intersections, but results are already interesting to follow the story further. We hope that the new IR firm will translate it in German properly and those guys know where the business is this days. Just look at Germany export numbers - they must be praying every morning for China. They are buying spare parts from China and selling back assembled machinery, precision tools and Mercedes with BMW. The only things which are missing in this ideal cooperation are the raw materials to produce those parts from. Here where companies like Canada Zinc Metals are coming into the picture. Hopefully Germans will get the story and why Chinese Tongling is now holding more then 30% of this company. Translation will take some time and our Summer Xmas sale is still going on in this play even just before the Labour Day.
Among the other developments today we have mentioned that Lundin Mining has increased its loan facility and the maturity of the loan - will Lukas Lundin go shopping one day to increase his resource base for the next leg up in this commodity bull? He still maintains stake in Canada Zinc Metals along with all Chinese participants - should someone decide to chase this dragon - story could become very interesting.

2010-09-02 08:06 ET - News Release

Mr. Peeyush Varshney reports

UPDATE ON AKIE PROPERTY 2010 EXPLORATION PROGRAM

Canada Zinc Metals Corp. has provided an update on the 2010 diamond drill program currently under way on its Cardiac Creek Sedex zinc-lead-silver deposit. The deposit, which is on the company's 100-per-cent-owned Akie property, is located approximately 260 kilometres north-northwest of the town of Mackenzie in northeastern British Columbia.

2010 Akie property drill program

Objectives of the 2010 drilling program include testing the prospective Gunsteel formation shales for the continuation of the Cardiac Creek deposit in the NW Extension and to further explore the potential of the North Lead anomaly (see below) located two km northwest along strike of the deposit.

To date, eight diamond drill holes (3,871.39 metres) of a planned 10-hole 5,000-metre program have been completed. Of these, four holes (1,464 m) tested the NW Extension target while a further three holes (1,762.12 metres) continued to test the highly prospective North Lead anomaly. All drill holes have intersected mineralized shales of the Gunsteel formation, the primary host of the Cardiac Creek deposit. The sulphide mineralization occurs at the same stratigraphic horizon as the deposit.

A single drill hole (645.27 metres) tested a priority target along the northwest edge of the Cardiac Creek deposit encountering 26 metres of sulphide mineralization. Currently, both drill rigs are tasked with other priority targets on the Cardiac Creek deposit totalling an estimated 1,550 metres of planned drilling.

Assay results are pending for all drill holes. All drill core is logged for geology, structure, mineralization, RQD and photographed. Sections of sulphide mineralization are marked for sampling with a series of standards, duplicates and blanks inserted into the sample stream for quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) purposes. Samples are split by a diamond saw, tagged and bagged and forwarded to Acme Analytical Laboratories Ltd. of Vancouver, B.C., for analysis. All remaining drill core is stored at the Akie exploration camp.

It is anticipated that exploration activities on the Akie property will continue until late September.

About the North Lead anomaly

The North Lead anomaly is a large (200 m by 1,000 m), open-ended, lead-in-soil (70 to 624 parts per million (ppm) lead) anomaly located approximately two km north of the nearest Cardiac Creek deposit drill hole. Previous drilling has encountered massive sulphides containing sphalerite and galena (0.8 metre grading 11.6 per cent zinc and 9.05 per cent lead), sulphide replacement (pyrite, sphalerite and galena) of an underlying footwall carbonate debris flow and quartz-carbonate alteration of footwall rocks, all suggestive of proximity to a vent zone.

About the Akie property

The Akie zinc-lead property is situated within the southernmost part (Kechika trough) of the regionally extensive Paleozoic Selwyn basin, one of the most prolific sedimentary basins in the world for the occurrence of Sedex zinc-lead-silver and stratiform barite deposits.

Drilling on the Akie property by Inmet Mining Corp. during the period 1994 to 1996 and by Canada Zinc Metals since 2005 has identified a significant body of baritic-zinc-lead Sedex mineralization (Cardiac Creek deposit). The deposit is hosted by variably siliceous, fine-grained clastic rocks of the Middle to Late Devonian Gunsteel formation. The company has outlined an NI 43-101-compliant inferred resource of 23.6 million tonnes grading 7.6 per cent zinc, 1.5 per cent lead and 13.0 grams per tonne (g/t) silver (at a 5-per-cent zinc cut-off grade).

Two similar deposits, Cirque and Cirque South Cirque, located about 20 kilometres northwest of Akie and owned under a joint venture by Teck Resources and Korea Zinc, are also hosted by Gunsteel rocks and have a combined geologic inventory in excess of 50 million tonnes (not NI 43-101 compliant) grading approximately 10 per cent combined zinc plus lead.

In addition to the Akie property, Canada Zinc Metals Corp. controls a large contiguous group of claims which comprise the Kechika Regional project. These claims are underlain by geology identical to that on the Akie property (Cardiac Creek deposit) and Cirque. This project includes the 100-per-cent-owned Mt. Alcock property, which has yielded a historic drill intercept of 8.8 metres grading 9.3 per cent zinc plus lead, numerous zinc-lead-barite occurrences and several regional base metal anomalies.

Qualified person

Peter Dadson, BSc, PGeol, is the qualified person for the company, as defined by NI 43-101, and is responsible for the technical information contained in this release.

We seek Safe Harbor."

"Now we have quite a few tasty juniors in the market for this exercise. Companies like Goldstone Resources, Sunridge Gold, NGeX Resources and Almaden Minerals, but with Almaden that time has past with announced results and the stock is up almost 100% from Nobody Wants Time...two weeks ago. You can never be sure which one will be next, but when the insiders are buying you have a few odds in your favour. Two other stocks that we are following here are particularly interesting from this point of view: TNR Gold and Canada Zinc Metals. TNR Gold is moving forward with its spin out of International Lithium corp. and its major shareholder has made another acquisition of shares just few weeks ago and Canada Zinc Metals is now trading more then 20% below of placement price announced by its Chinese major shareholder as well. Richard Mills in his article below gives a very good picture on summer junior market trade and a very important big picture view with Dow:Gold ratio. He is following TNR Gold with International Lithium as well on his website.

We hold stake in this company and nothing should be taken as an investment advise on this blog, as usual."

"This investment story is all about China and its growth.

Warren Buffet mentioned along the lines, that in order to be the great investment story the business behind it should be really boring. Chinese Tongling is taking another placement with Canada Zinc Metals above the market price. Now, it will be interesting to see whether Lukas Lundin will be back into this M&A story in Canada. This is because Lundin Mining still holds a significant stake in the company and the recent deal with Kinross Gold buying rest of the shares of RedBack Mining will bring sufficient liquidity to Lukas Lundin treasury, should he decide to  rebuilt his Lundin Mining base metals powerhouse for this stage of coming reinflation commodity boom.

Canada Zinc Metals has announced a buy back now and we could not agree more that the company is still undervalued. Strategic investment in TNR Gold with its Lithium and REE projects, not to mention again a back door into the Los Azules Copper project in Argentina, remains a wild valuation card still to be played at this table. Lundin Mining or Giant Tongling could change valuation of this company literally overnight with its involvement.

"Tongling Nonferrous Metals Group Holdings Co. Ltd. Subscribes to $18 Million Private Placement

July 26, 2010

Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada – Monday, July 26, 2010 – Canada Zinc Metals Corp. (TSX Venture Exchange: CZX) is pleased to announce that it has entered into a financing arrangement with Tongling Nonferrous Metals Group Holdings Co. Ltd. (“Tongling”) pursuant to which Tongling has subscribed, by way of a non-brokered private placement, to 31,386,224 units of Canada Zinc Metals at a price of $0.5735 per unit for gross proceeds of $18,000,000. Each unit consists of one common share and one half of a common share purchase warrant. Each whole warrant shall entitle the purchaser to purchase, at any time within 24 months from closing, one additional common share of the Company at a price of $0.675 during the first year and at a price of $0.775 during the second year.

“We are extremely pleased to see this level of investment by Tongling,” stated Mr. Peeyush Varshney, CEO of Canada Zinc Metals. “Earlier this year, Tongling retained a leading international mining consulting firm to complete an independent due diligence review of the work we have done on the Akie property to date and, clearly, a very positive report was produced.”

The proceeds of the private placement will be used to fund further exploration and advancement of the Company’s Akie zinc-lead property and for working capital and corporate purposes.

“We are pleased to be further increasing our stake in Canada Zinc Metals,” said Mr. Li Dongqing, Vice-President and Chief Engineer of Tongling. “We look forward to continuing to build our relationship with the Company.”

Tongling Nonferrous Metals Group Holdings Co. Ltd., based in Tongling, Anhui, is a state-owned holding company, and one of China's largest copper smelting companies. Tongling’s principal activities are exploration, mining, ore processing, smelting & refining and products processing of copper, lead, zinc, gold, silver and other non-ferrous and rare metals.

Upon completion of the private placement, Tongling will own approximately a 36% equity position in Canada Zinc Metals.

The financing is subject to receiving the necessary approvals of the Tongling board of directors, the relevant Chinese regulatory departments, the TSX Venture Exchange and the shareholders of the Company.

The financing is also subject to terms and conditions that generally accompany significant strategic investments of this nature and size.

About the Akie Property

The Akie zinc-lead property is situated within the southern-most part (Kechika Trough) of the regionally extensive Paleozoic Selwyn Basin, one of the most prolific sedimentary basins in the world for the occurrence of SEDEX zinc-lead-silver and stratiform barite deposits.

Drilling on the Akie property by Inmet Mining Corporation during the period 1994 to 1996 and by Canada Zinc Metals since 2005 has identified a significant body of baritic-zinc-lead SEDEX mineralization (Cardiac Creek deposit). The deposit is hosted by variably siliceous, fine grained clastic rocks of the Middle to Late Devonian ‘Gunsteel’ formation. The Company has outlined a NI 43-101 compliant inferred resource of 23.6 million tonnes grading 7.6% zinc, 1.5% lead and 13.0 g/t silver (at a 5% zinc cut off grade).

Two similar deposits, Cirque and Cirque South Cirque, located some 20 km northwest of Akie and owned under a joint venture by Teck Resources and Korea Zinc, are also hosted by Gunsteel rocks and have a combined geologic inventory in excess of 50 million tonnes (not 43-101 compliant) grading approximately 10% combined zinc + lead.

In addition to the Akie property, Canada Zinc Metals Corp. controls a large contiguous group of claims which comprise the Kechika Regional project. These claims are underlain by geology identical to that on the Akie property (Cardiac Creek deposit) and Cirque. This project includes the 100% owned Mt. Alcock property, which has yielded a historic drill intercept of 8.8 metres grading 9.3% zinc+lead, numerous zinc-lead-barite occurrences, and several regional base metal anomalies.

The TSX Venture Exchange has neither approved nor disapproved the contents of this press release.

"This investment story is all about China and its growth. Warren Buffet mentioned along the lines, that in order to be the great investment story the business behind it should be really boring.

“Canada Zinc is drilling on its Akie zinc lead deposit in northern British Columbia . The intent of the current program is to expand on an already sizable deposit. The company also holds a dominant land position along the favorable trend that hosts Akie and other large deposits.

Based on a resource estimate in 2008, the Cardiac Creek deposit, located on the Akie property, has a resource of 23.6 million tonnes of 7.6% zinc, 1.5% lead and 13 grams per tonne silver at a 5% zinc cut-off. The aim of the present drilling is to test target zones both north and south of the present deposit.

Surface work and limited drilling has shown those areas to have the right geological conditions to host mineralization like that at Cardiac Creek. Even modest success in that drilling would point to significant expansion potential for a deposit that is already approaching the economic threshold.

The Cirque deposit of Teck and Korea Zinc, located 20 kilometers northwest of Akie, hosts a non-compliant resource of about 50 million tonnes of 10% zinc plus lead. The major has done little on that deposit since its attention was diverted to its huge Red Dog deposit in Alaska , now one of the largest zinc mines in the world. After a couple of decades of production, theend of the mine life is in sight for the Red Dog mine. Teck retained the claims over the Cirque deposit area, but holds little else in the district.

Canada Zinc controls an extensive property position that covers most of the favorable trend for a total of 180km. Limited work by several previous operators has demonstrated the appropriate geological setting and the presence of zinc-lead mineralization. The deposit already outlined by Canada Zinc, the expansion potential and the dominant land position in an important metal district provides a strong basis for valuation. However, at this time, investors in North America have little interest in zinc explorers.

The outlook is very different in Asia . Canada Zinc has caught the attention of the Chinese mining industry. In May, Tongling Nonferrous Metal invested a further C$3.45 million in the company, bringing its stake to 17.65% of the equity of Canada Zinc. Another company, Jintuo, recently invested C$3 million at C$0.60, to bring its stake to 11%. Canada Zinc is trading well below the value of its assets. Results over the coming months could push that value substantially higher. At the same time, investor interest in base metal deposits is likely to grow, on both sides of the Pacific.”
